Empowering Our Community

President's Greeting

Join us in our mission to support and uplift the Burgess Hill community through dedicated service and impactful initiatives.

I joined Burgess Hill District Lions 15 years ago along with my husband. I felt that it was time to give something back to our community. Little did I know that on our 70th Anniversary, I would become their President, which is an honour and a privilege. Our Motto is “To Serve,” and in my small way, I feel that every member and I do just that.

We are involved in all sorts of community activities, some of which you may have attended. Our events include “Search for a Star,” which will take place on Saturday, October 12. Tickets are available now online.

On Saturday, October 26th, and Saturday, October 27th, at the start of the school holidays, we are hosting two free Cinema evenings in conjunction with MSDC, which runs a series of events in a large marque in the Martletts area. Online booking via MSDC will be available shortly.

The annual Remembrance Day parade is where all societies come together with the Royal British Legion, and I will be laying a wreath on behalf of Burgess Hill District Lions.

During 2024/25, Burgess Hill will be supported by the Burgess Hill District Lions Club for 70 years. Our members are locals who come from various backgrounds and are aware of the difficult issues in their community. Throughout the years, we have taken pleasure in various social activities, organised fundraising, and participated in community events, many alongside Burgess Hill Town Council and other community organisations.

I look forward to the coming year 2024/25 to enhance the Club’s reputation in Burgess Hill and our wider community.

As a Lion, I’ve gained confidence and personal growth with the full support, companionship, and guidance of my fellow Lions. As President, I hope the club will continue to develop fresh concepts and raise its profile in the community.

Joining the Lions may be right for you if you wish to support others less fortunate than yourself, have fun doing it, and be part of this wonderful organisation and the community in which we live.

Please email president@bhdlions.co.uk with any inquires you may have about potential membership or call us on 0345 8332706.
